Eureka, Missouri (April 1, 2008) – Guests at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Resort next to Six Flags in Eureka, Missouri are in for a treat next year when the resort unveils the first phase of an ongoing multi-million dollar renovation project.

The resort recently completed a new 11,000 square foot multi-use building which houses a GENERAL STORE & GIFT EMPORIUM filled to the brim with unusual gifts including hundreds of hard to find Yogi Bear collectables, clothing and toys. Kids of all ages will appreciate the NEW VIDEO ARCADE filled with the hottest redemption games and the new ACTIVITY PAVILION where families can participate in a myriad of fun activities.

The building also features a MULTI-ROOM PARTY AND MEETING CENTER.  The facility is the perfect choice for family reunions, youth group retreats or any type of meeting where participants love to have fun. The meeting facilities are unusual because each room contains a kitchenette for serving meals or snacks. Plus, there are outdoor barbecue grills for informal group cookouts. Catering is also available if you want to leave the work to the professionals.

The resort will build on its currently existing wide array of planned activities to offer special theme events all season long. Guests can such let their imaginations run free during Yogi’s Pirate Adventure Week, or test their skills at wacky games during Family Oympics Week. By popular demand, the resort’s  Halloween Spooktacular will be expanded to four weekends in the fall and Yogi guarantees plenty of ghosts, ghoulies and goblins for everyone.  And, don’t forget your costume!

In addition to daily character visits from Yogi Bear, there will be plenty more to do including train rides on the YOGI EXPRESS TRAIN, arts and crafts, light stick parades, water balloon volleyball, s’mores roasts, family movies & cartoons, campfire stories, old fashioned ice cream socials, Boo Boo’s playground, mini-golf, horseshoes, shuffleboard,  the pool … the list goes on and on.  A new outdoor recreation field was recently added for those who want to burn off a little excess energy while vacationing.

Jellystone Park Resort is owned and operated by Scott and Kathy Jones.  Scott Jones is a former professional soccer player who wanted to continue to entertain kids and families when he retired from playing soccer.  He explains his passion for the business this way, “Our mission is to bring families closer and help them have fun together.  It’s a privilege to be able to own the type of business that strengthens the family and provides them with great memories they can share.”  The Joneses are also big supporters of our military and offer FREE camping specials in the spring and fall to active members of the military.

The resort is unique in that it combines a “back to nature” vacation with first class resort amenities.  Guests can stay in one of the resorts cabins or cottages or camp out under the stars in their own tent or RV. The cottages offer all the fun of camping out with the comfort and convenience of a two bedroom unit complete with kitchen and bath.  The most unusual accommodations however are the resort’s air conditioned rental tents.  Yes, “air conditioned” tents!  How’s that for a luxury camp-out!

Jellystone Park will be introducing TWO BRAND-NEW SPECIAL DEALS FOR VISITORS IN 2008:  The Super Saver Packages on cottages, cabins and campsites which includes FREE tickets to Six Flags over Mid-America, the world-class Theme & Water Park located next door to the resort.  Super Savers also receive FREE game tokens, a $20 coupon book for the general store, and a Family Attractions card good for over $1000 in savings at St. Louis’ favorite family attractions.  The Boo Boo’s Bracelet package is $6 per person per stay and offers two arcade game tokens, unlimited mini golf, a free ride on the Yogi Express train each day of your stay, and $10 off your admission at Six Flags.

If you want to get away for a while, Eureka Jellystone is an easy drive to all the major St. Louis attractions.  From the Six Flags park right next door to the famous Arch, Cardinals games at Busch Stadium (tour the Anheuser Busch Brewery, anyone?), the Zoo or Purina Farms (where you can find a petting zoo, wagon rides and a hayloft with tunnels, a rope swing and a slide), there is something in St. Louis for everyone.  They don’t call Missouri the Show Me State for nothing!
